Luxury fashion brand, Whitetail, featured WXYZ's Face Cage Mask at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Known for its use of liveable materials, simple lines, and pleasing color combinations, the brand created by doctor and designer Margit Peura meshed perfectly with the avant-garde aesthetic of our cagey head pieces. The masks locked the steady gaze of the models in a diamond-speckled vestibule as they moved fluidly down the runway in roomy, two-piece ensembles.
The mask created a dramatic, shadowy veil-like effect on the models' faces, framing the facial features. The interlocking diamond tubes are connected by elastic, so they expand comfortably over the head and adjust to allow full visibility to the wearer.
In gold, brass, silver, rainbow oil slick, and gunmetal, the Face Cage Masks ornamented undone hair and minimal makeup.
The headpieces reflected and refracted light, creating rainbows and shadows under the runway lights.
The futuristic mood of the collaboration inspires fashionistas and designers to bend the bars of expectation through imaginative headwear designs. Despite the term cage in the name, the Face Cage Mask is a piece that represents liberation from fashion accessory conventions.
